The ComNet CNGE2MC is a single (1) channel Ethernet converter from electrical to optical and optical to electrical. The CNGE22MC is a two (2) CHANNEL Ethernet converter in a single package. These devices accept a 10/100 or 1000 Mbps (Megabits Per Second) electrical input and converts this to a 1000 Mbps (1Gbs) optical output and the 1 Gbs optical input back to the 10/100/1000 Mbps electrical output. This conversion is call "Auto-Negotiating" and is automatically performed by the electronics. These devices use either one or two optical fibers, depending upon the specific optical module used. The optical module is called a Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) and typically uses a ComNet SFP-6 module. The LED (light emitting diode) indicators display that the Optical Link is connected and that there is Data activity on the channel.

The ComNet™ CNGE2MCPOEM Ethernet 2 port media converter is designed to transmit and receive 10/100/1000 Mbps data over optical fiber through user selectable SFP options. The CNGE2MCPOEM transmits and receives a single channel of Ethernet data. It also supports IEEE 802.3at Class 1 - 4 as power sourcing equipment (PSE) with up to 30 Watts of operating power to the remote powered device. It requires the ordering of sold-separately interchangeable SFP modules for fiber type, distance and connectors. Its electrical interface will Auto-Negotiate to a 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps Ethernet rate without any adjustments. The optical interface operates at 1000 Mbps. The CNGE2MCPOEM is environmentally hardened to operate in extreme temperatures. LED indicators are provided for confirming equipment operating status.

The ComNet Ethernet CNMC2+1SFP electrical-to-optical Ethernet media converters accept two 10/100 or 1000 Mbps electrical inputs and converts this to a single 100 or 1000 Mbps optical output (selected by a DIP switch) and the 100/1000 Mbps optical input back to the 10/100/1000 Mbps electrical output. "Auto-Negotiating" is supported on the copper interface side. These devices use either one or two optical fibers, depending upon the selection of sold-separately SFP optical module. The ComNet exclusive Demux feature allows for port isolation, replicating two media converters over one fiber. The ComNet exclusive Mux feature prevents network video flooding of multicast traffic with DIP switch selection of the fiber port as a dedicated uplink path. The CNMC2+1SFP series can be powered by wide range of AC or DC input power supplies.

The ComNet CNMCSFP electrical-to-optical Ethernet media converters accept a 10/100 or 1000 Mbps electrical input and converts this to a 100 or 1000 Mbps optical output (selected by a dip switch) and the 100/1000 Mbps optical input back to the 10/100/1000 Mbps electrical output. "Auto-Negotiating" is supported on the copper interface side. These devices use either one or two optical fibers, depending upon the selection of sold-separately SFP optical module. A PoE model, the CNMCSFPPOE/M meets the IEE802.3at standard and provides 30 watts of PoE+ power. The series consists of a small-size single channel model, CNMCSFP/M; a ComFit standard size, single-channel model, CNMCSFP; and a dual channel, the CNMC2SFP.
