That's what you get with the Cisco® ASR 9000v and Cisco ASR 9000v-V2, which use the Cisco ASR 9000 Series nV technology to integrate access and edge functions. The Cisco ASR 900 0v and Cisco ASR 9000v-V2 operate as an extension shelf of the Cisco ASR 9000 Series Aggregation Services Routers, providing delivery of Cisco ASR 9000 Series services from the Cisco ASR 9000v or Cisco ASR 9000v-V2. Using nV technology lets you dramatically reduce your operational costs by simplifying the access and edge network and by delivering tremendous service and network scale through the use of the Cisco ASR 9000 distributed control plane, which extends feature processing to the access layer.

The Cisco ASR 1000 Series consists of six different versions the Cisco ASR 1001 Router, the Cisco ASR 1002 Fixed Router, the Cisco ASR 1002 Router, the Cisco ASR 1004 Router, the Cisco ASR 1006 Router, and the Cisco ASR 1013 Router. All six models use the innovative and powerful Cisco QuantumFlow Processor, which provides a huge leap in performance and resiliency for network processors.

Additionally, the routers have hardware and software redundancy, as well as an industry-leading high-availability design. The Cisco ASR 1002 delivers multiple services embedded in the Cisco QuantumFlow Processor at wire speeds of up to 10 Gbps. The services supported on the Cisco Packet QuantumFlow Processor include security services (for example, encryption and firewall), quality of service (QoS), Network Based Application Recognition (NBAR), Cisco IOS Flexible Packet Matching, broadband aggregation, and session border controller, among others.

Cisco® ASR 920 Series Aggregation Services Routers are full-featured converged access platforms designed for the cost-effective delivery of wireline and wireless services. They are temperature hardened, high-throughput, small form factor, low-power-consumption routers optimized for mobile backhaul, residential, and business service applications. The Cisco ASR 920 Router provides a comprehensive and scalable feature set of Layer 2 VPN (L2VPN) and Layer 3 VPN (L3VPN) services in a compact package. It also enables service providers to deploy Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)-based VPN services from within the access layer. Designed around key Carrier Ethernet features that simplify network operation, the Cisco ASR 920 Series enables premium services with enhanced service-level agreement (SLA) capabilities. An optional "pay-as-you-grow" feature and service activation model gives service providers a flexible, cost-effective solution.
