Hyper Kit is an M.2 to Mini SAS HD adapter that gives owners of ASUS motherboards freedom to fit next-generation 2.5-inch NVM Express SSDs with an U.2 interface. This exclusive technology exploits the maximum PCI Express 3.0 x4 bandwidth of 32Gbit/s for SSD transfer speeds that are up to 3.5X faster than traditional SSDs!

HYPER M.2 X16 Card supports up to four PCIe® 3.0 x4 M.2 drives, it can be setup with Intel VROC (Virtual RAID on CPU), a new I/O storage technology within the Intel® RSTe 5.x driver family. This feature allows users to use CPU PCIe lanes to create BOOTable RAID arrays. A CPU PCIe 3.0 x 16 slot can support data transfer rates up to 128 Gbps - that's four times faster than DMI the 32 Gbps limit of the DMI bus, and 22x faster than SATA 3.0.

RAID on CPU

The ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen 4 Card is compatible with the Intel® X299, Z390, Z370 and future platforms' RAID-on-CPU function, and supports PCIe 4.0 NVMe RAID on the AMD TRX40 and X570 platforms. Unused CPU PCle lanes can be assigned to storage, allowing you to create a bootable RAID array with up to four M.2 SSDs.

KRPA-U16 features two embedded Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports up to 100G or higher interconnect speeds with the addition of a PCIe 4.0 (Gen 4 x16 link) for its OCP 2.0 mezzanine card for HPC applications that require high-bandwidth, low-latency network support to connect multiple nodes and clusters. ASUS offers an authorized validation OCP mezzanine card for these models.

Designed for higher storage throughput performance and storage responsiveness for advanced computing, KRPA-U16 features 12 NVMe solutions with six onboard Oculink ports via a PCIe x4 link and six additional Oculink ports via an ASUS riser card for faster data transfers.
