The PCC170 and the PCC170 SW are professional boundary layer microphones with supercardioid polar pattern to minimize background noise and feedback. The microphones are designed for use on boardroom tables or lecterns. Both microphones provide a bass-tilt switch, allowing the user to tailor the low-end response and reduce subsonic noise. The included RFI suppression ensures trouble-free operation even with active cell phones nearby. The PCC170 SW has a silent-operating programmable membrane switch that can be configured for touch on/off, momentary on or momentary off. For easy installation, both microphones offer an XLR connector and a detachable cable.

If you've ever tried to bring a studio mic on stage, you know they're too delicate to stand up to the task. The C636 mic's proprietary double shock suspension system greatly reduces handling noise, even during the most energetic on-stage performances. Its capsule sits on a highly absorbent rubber bearing, eliminating any structure-based noise, while an adjustable balancing network cancels vibrations over a wide frequency range. In addition, a substantial brass layer below the capsule serves as a counterweight that increases stability and delivers cleaner acoustics.

A new approach to broad-spectrum feedback rejection

The C636 essentially eliminates feedback by combining a uniform cardioid polar pattern throughout the entire frequency spectrum with a specially designed suspension and grille for the capsule. This unique approach to housing the capsule avoids unwanted sound reflections on the back of the capsule from stage sound sources, the most common cause of feedback in other microphones

This creates an extremely consistent supercardioid polar pattern throughout the entire frequency spectrum, for extraordinary feedback and spill rejection.

Proprietary shock absorber suspension

The C7 features a proprietary mechano-pneumatic shock absorber suspension that ensures handling noise won't clutter your sound. The capsule sits on top of a unique rubber insert, preventing vibrations from the housing from reaching the capsule. AKG searched extensively to find the right rubber to meet the specification, ultimately working with a Viennese company to source a material with exceptionally strong absorptive properties. The result is far superior to mics that feature extensive internal electronic filters to minimize handling noise.
