The Fluke 771 delivers all the basic functionality you would expect in a milliamp clamp meter. It measures 4-20 mA signals without "breaking the loop," allowing you to measure low level DC current without having to take systems offline for troubleshooting, saving downtime and money. You can also use it to measure output signals from transmitters without breaking the loop when maintaining and troubleshooting process and automation equipment. This saves time and avoids disrupting critical processes so you can avoid expensive downtime. You can also measure 10 to 50 mA signals in older control systems using the 99.9 mA range.

Added convenience

Designed to make troubleshooting easier, the Fluke 771 includes a detachable clamp that can be attached to the wire you're testing while you move the meter-connected by the extension cable-to a better viewing position. This is especially helpful for taking readings in tight locations. The Fluke 773 milliamp clamp meter is accurate, versatile, and highly portable. It saves time and money by measuring 4-20 mA signals five times faster than with traditional multimeters, and without breaking the loop. That means you can troubleshoot a live device without having to power down and possibly miss something going on in the process.

The 773 is ideal for troubleshooting transmitters, valves, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) found in process plants. The 773 allows you to connect to a mA loop in a traditional series workflow to measure, source, or simulate a control system. And it measures up to 99.0 mA non-contact, including 10 to 50 mA signals in older control systems.

The 773 also sources and measures DC voltage, so it can be used to troubleshoot voltage input and output devices that accept a 1-5 V or 0 to 10 V signal. You can detach the clamp section of the meter and use it as a remote jaw, connected to the main body by an extension cable to make it easier to take measurements in tight spaces.

The Fluke 789 ProcessMeter is the ultimate troubleshooting tool for electricians and instrumentation professionals. It combines the functionality of a full-featured loop calibrator with the power of a CAT III 1000 V, CAT IV 600 V safety rated digital multimeter, and the wireless capabilities of Fluke Connect connectivity with optional IR3000FC module. The 789 has a large, dual display with two levels of backlighting and externally accessible fuse and batteries for easy replacement. And its built-in, selectable 250-ohm HART® resistor eliminates the need to carry a separate resistor.

The 789 also has a built-in 24-Volt loop supply, which reduces the need to carry a separate power supply when doing offline transmitter testing. The 789 provides all standard DMM capabilities including frequency measurement to 20 kHz, Min/Max/Average/Hold/Relative modes, and diode test and continuity beeper. Combine that with the ability to troubleshoot every part of the loop.

Measure, source, simulate 4-20 mA signals, measure resistance, measure power, provide power to the loop and provide 250-ohm resistance to the loop. The 789 includes SpanCheck; 0% and 100% buttons to toggle between 4 and 20 mA sourcing, while the display can simultaneously show mA and % of scale readings for faster troubleshooting. It also delivers 1200-ohm drive capability on mA source.
